Eagle Sighting?!

Saturday, I was stitching away watching a movie. Lounging and taking it easy. My husband came in from chores and said, "he had an eagle spotting! Lets get the camera and let's do a drive by and see them and maybe just get some great pictures. Do you need to change?" Nah... just going around here and staying in the car right? "Yes" Okay then lets go...

We took Nellie with us for the ride along. We did spot an eagle, but too high for any good shots. So we rode around and did some more scanning the countryside. Then decided to head home. Nellie was out of the car first and alerted me someone was here! No cars, so I said, someone has been here. Husband said, why do you say that? Look at Nellie. At least someone stopped by and then probably left because we were gone.

Upon entering the cabin from my loft....up jumped all my kids, bee sisters, and cousins.
One at a time, spelling with their arms Happy Birthday. I was so surprised, i think i actually missed that effort. But my cabin was full of 22 of my family including mother.
Lunch was served and much sharing on all their secret planning. So many had come long distances. The picture of the car lineup shows the careful planning to meet on the gravel road East of my eagle outing. Good thing for cell phone coordination.
Needless to say, it was a wonderful surprise!
An afternoon of visiting everyone then they left to meet once again at Honey Creek Restaurant.
Some of my family was staying there after there long drives.

Honey Creek Resort reserved an area of tables for us to meet again and have a delicious dinner. Everyone ordered off menu and i enjoyed their salmon with gooseberry/citrus sauce.
It was yummy! So was dessert of Queen Bee cake! I believe it came from Winterset, brought by my eldest, Kristin. It was such a wonderful heartfelt cherished evening.
Thanks you my dear children for all the great food. Thank you everyone for the long drives and effort to share my 6Th decade and thanks for the laughter and joy you gave me.
My family is the best! All those phone calls and early gifts did the trick, because i was definitely surprised by everyone.
