Daffodils Anywhere?

Okay so, I still looking for those spring signs even though...yes I woke up to a white snow covering over the grass. The good thing is by noon it had melted away. Showing me another sure sign the earth is warming up!

I planted a few new daffodils bulbs last fall and I walked around to those places and looked for appearances of them... On the south side of my house were a bit of familiar green blades. So I had to find this picture at a garden website. I needed to remind myself that they are somewhere. My sister, Barb from Missouri reported no sightings of hummingbirds her way yet. But do you have daffodils?

Daffodils are the flower for the month of March. Which makes it my birthday month flower.

I also know it is the flower for the country of Wales. Which is the country of some of my ancestors. I like that. {Another area I need to research}

The meaning of daffodil is for rebirth and new beginnings. I love that it means spring is here and the ground has been reborn for another new season of growing.

They are a very hardy flower and have strength in numbers. They will spread on their own and can quickly beautify a wooded area. It helps that the foraging deer do not like to eat them because they are quite bitter. Also the squirrels will not dig up the bulbs for the same reason.

What a wonderful flower to be born under... March.

Many posts and I have not discussed any stitching on my part. This I had planned to be a goal with some of my few time. Who knew I needed just time to recoup with no desire to be constructive. I did mention earlier about finishing up a bed scarf for my daughter, Kristin. She has Gone With The Wind decor in her bedroom. This is the bed scarf or lap quilt I completed for her Christmas gift. I had been adding Swarovski crystals around the banners and a few extra embellishments. Those embellishments I needed to complete after my surgery. It is at home with her now. I have been working on some other projects now that I will post about later. The big Easter egg hunt will be here soon... Prizes, prizes...

My concerns as you can tell, has been for the warmer weather. But I must admit the gloomy days do help to continue with stitching.

It won't be long before I will be taking those walks enjoying the daffodils. Right? Because March is almost over! Come on... are there daffodils anywhere?!!!

Yes, daffodils have been blooming for several weeks here. They are hardy and don't seem to mind a dusting of snow which usually happens. We are now in full bloom with trees, shrubs, hyacinth all in bloom. I told mom this is a great time to visit Missouri as you get a taste of spring before it arrives in Iowa. Fruit trees are now starting to bloom which is a concern-hoping they don't get nipped with a frost.

Barb, sounds wonderful. Need to encourage her to come with me sometime soon.

Catching up with your blog today! Daffodils have come and are almost gone here. Tulips are starting to bloom as are the fruit trees. We've had a week of on and off rain, but I'm not complaining...it's not snow!
