Springtime 2011

Entrance to Springtime has been bright, sunny then a return to cloudy with raindrops.
Here in the Midwest it brings tornados as well. Many parts of the country has been experiencing many of these this season.
News every morning will have focus of cities recovering from damages to their homes.
Today it is Arkansas with 7 who have had lives lost. Many cherished homes gone.
Even St. Louis highly populated areas hit this past weekend.
It brings thoughts of memories of tornados histories. I have been blessed to of been close but not experienced the feeling of standing in the mist of these.
When I was a small child in 1959, I lived in St. Louis. During that Spring a violent tornado hit downtown. I remembered hearing the sirens, not knowing then that living in a trailer not safest of buildings... Where did we go?! Funny how it is not a memory of fear. What I do remember is my father driving us downtown past the tall brick buildings exposed to that funnel of wind! Peering up from the backseat car window.. I saw bathtubs still sitting in open rooms and bricks everywhere! People walking amongst those bricks with such sad eyes. Those are visions that touched that small child.
I send Prayers to the many who are sharing those visions now.
