This restaurant, I believed has been open many decades now. Not exactly sure of date but, early 50s would cover it, I believe. It was a thriving business and a favorite of my Mother in law for many weekends where she lived in Appanoose County. The original owner is still found to greet and speak to all the customers coming in to enjoy an evening meal. Her daughter now manages it on the only open evenings, Friday and Saturday. They always begin the ordering time with a relish tray accompanied with ham salad and crackers. The first course is offer of ch 2 choices of homemade soups. Then homemade bread is given while you enjoy the soup and wait for the main course. I had fillet wrapped in bacon and baked potato , so very good!! But many choices were available from catfish, pork, chicken and beef selections. Another plus is the brewed tea is great. With lots of refilled!
After finishing your meal our waitress wanted to know if we would enjoy a dessert. Sadly I did not even ask what the choices, as I was very full along with the rest of us.!
I enjoy each time we go with my in laws as they love to reminisce of times gone by that they enjoyed coming there when you could also dance and enjoy much friendship .
This Saturday night, we were there, it was no problem keeping the tables filled as it was a steady stream of customers coming in the door as Adeline greeted each one.
In fact, it might be a good thing to make a reservation!
