Crows a unique bird used during this season as decoration. PBS did a special with a study of these interesting birds. One is that, they do not like people in scary masks and send out alarms to other fellow crows. The study showed they have definite facial recognition. They are the best problem solvers also. Showing they are very intelligent. The episode was on a weekly show of Nature on PBS.
Have you listened to the owls of the night they are one of few birds that fly and swoop in the darkness. The distinctive sound always gives pause to listen. wings of bats can be seen in flight as well. During this time many like to use these creatures of night as decorations for Halloween. They serve a purpose in the circle of life. Bats keep our insect population in check and our owls keep those small rodents in control!
