Happy Valentine's Day to You

On this holiday, I send special wishes & prayers to you. Cherish your love ones in your life and memories of all the special times shared in your lives journey together.
These extra days, I had this week have spun by too quickly. Not near enough time to complete the projects goals. I did get done a couple. Baby gift is now in the mail and another birthday gift waiting to be delivered. The many valentines, I would of liked to send out, just will not get done this year.
My eldest daughter will be celebrating her 13Th wedding anniversary this weekend. Valentine's Day holds special meaning for her!
Have a blessed weekend Kristin.

Thinkin of Lincoln

Is not today Lincoln's birthday? Today is also a sweet girl's birthday. She is very close to my eldest son and we all wish her well.
If today is President Lincoln's birthday. It is a good day to share a birthday.

Last night, I had the pleasure of watching PBS show about... Finding Lincoln. It is quite good. I would recommend it, if any of you have a chance or desire. Incidentally, I have been reading Manhunt the 12-Day Chase For Lincoln's Killer by James L. Swanson
Happy Birthday Jamie, Have a great Day.

Beverly's Art

My dear sister sent me some lovely pieces. This is her new love of working on these days.
When we chat on the phone, she is very excited about making these pieces in her kiln.
She likes the fact, that every piece is unique. I was the happy receiver of a early birthday present. Isn't the bookmark, earrings, and pendant beautiful?
Thank you Bev. Good job on your new venture into the art of crafting jewerly!

A Granddaughter's Surprize

Miss Joella received all A's on her report card this quarter. To show appreciation, her mother decided, while she was out, to redecorate her study/TV room. A fascination with France Joella has now. The theme you see, is of course... Paris, France.
While my daughter busily worked on the room, I stitched a pillow for my small contribution.
Needless to say, Joella loved her room when she returned home.
A child, who might feel well loved this night.

Is it Springtime?

This morning shows a few robins out my window. Could it be time for spring?
It seems to me my past memories tell me, that they search for worms in the snow. Did not the ground hog see his shadow?
Here on my timberland, I only feel Springtime has arrived, at the sight of these birds. The unattractive turkey vultures. They always tell me they are back from Florida. I then have confidence the roadkill will stay thawed out for them to feast. What a thought, but they are one of God's wonderful creations.

Luncheon of the Boating Party

The winning choice for book of March is... "Luncheon of the Boating Party" by Susan Vreeland.
It came highly recommended by a dear friend at work as well as by the reviews from my computer search. Hopefully, it will be well received by our members at Odd-Mannered Book Club. The story is narrated by Renoir. A quantum leap into 1880's along the Seine which sounds so fun. We had a wonderful evening at my daughter's house who did a beautiful job hosting. The dinner was delicious with table setting superb. We enjoyed celebrating with gifts for the approaching Valentine's Day from Doreen. She very cleverly made ipods, out of box of conversation hearts.
A very enjoyable evening.

Bookmarks

The meeting of the OMBC will meet tonight. It has become my time to reveal the book for next month. Much thought and searching was required...
A fun activity this group has fallen into, is the giving of bookmarks.
In fact, it seems. we have become quite the collectors of them.
It is an unspoken rule, if you have the opportunity to take a vacation or a visit away from you home... you are to search for bookmarks from that locale. This task is quite fun and sometimes disappointing due to the fact, no bookmarks can be found. Myself, find it fun to create them. So my project during the watching the Super Bowl on Sunday, was to create these bookmarks.
They will bring the receivers, thoughts of an Artist...
I will reveal him later and my book.
