Romantic Christmas

Christmas became a romantic holiday for our family this year. Not one, but two proposals of marriage were given. My daughter received a beautiful engagement ring on Christmas morning. Must joy and excitement from her by phone till we all gathered to share her joy. All become excited to enjoy family time together. Delicious food was prepared by my family as I drove home form the E.R.the only bonus of having to work on Christmas morning. We then moved on to the gift wrapping contest then the exchanging of presents.
When everyone was finished opening gifts, my granddaughter receive a gift. It was presented by an actual on the knee proposal. She shed tears and very happily said, yes also. It looks to be two weddings in 2009. It reminded me that I had received my engagement ring for Christmas 40 years ago. How the passage of time seems to speed by so quickly.

Gift Wrapping Contest

New winner this year... is *Rebecca with her moving picture and Eco friendly recycled gift. The technology theme choice, definitely needs to be "You Tubed" to be fully appreciate all the activity of the gifts. They had music playing, Christmas picture shows of past memories, and much joy in the preparation. Will post later, when one of my family members post the display on You Tube. The granddaughters did a fun clever job as well. Maddy won with 2 wrapped gifts, that housed a remote car and controls so her gift traveled across the floor.

Roy Rogers Christmas

My family loves competition.. We have a gift wrapping contest. Big no-no never use a bag...
Actually our gift wrapping theme is technology. My DH thought that it would be fun to have to have a Roy Rogers Christmas. As I always like to decorate with the theme. The small tree is my theme tree. Last year's was Hawaii.

Icy Wonderland

Winter has came and brought much ice and snow to begin our Christmas week. My youngest son arrived before the storm hit the Midwest. But tomorrow, his wife will come from Florida where it is 80 degrees. We have warned her to be prepared for a balmy 2 degrees. When she lands to joins us for the holiday week. She will find the cabin's wood stove to give her wonderful warmth as she comes from the Arctic blast here.

Tis the Season

The time for families to gather and projects to be completed is here... Doesn't it seem to come so very quickly? I so very much look forward to this season. I love all that is accomplished in this, so short of time. But the very best thing of all is the gathering of my family. The time is always so precious and so cherished by my Dh and Me!! How we look forward to everything coming together. I am off for another 3 days at work. So everyone finish up those last minute projects because the season is here...

Angel Exchange

I became a part of an angel exchange through Esty Cottage. We were to use any medium. My favorite is of course, textiles. This little angel was mailed last Wednesday to Minnesota.
That accomplished, I found myself busily getting ready for the holidays, as I was due for my 3 day weekend at the E.R. Now I find myself taking the morning slowly with my gingerbread tea and sitting by the warm fire. It has turned bitterly COLD! I went to work yesterday morn with temps at 58 degrees then to drive home with Arctic winds and sub zero temps....Brrrrr
Not an easy adjustment for my body.
